The Borussia Monchengladbach manager has insisted his side will not get carried away with the current form and has refused to set any targets.
The Monchengladbach based club have been in inspired form this term and are currently fourth on the Bundesliga standings table with 39 points, one point adrift of leaders Bayern Munich. The relegation contenders for last season are well and truly in the race for the league title and have shown that they can cope with the pressure of playing against the bigger sides when they downed Jupp Heynckes’ men.
Favre claimed that his side is playing some great football at the moment and insisted that the team deserves the position it is in. He admitted that there are some very tough matches coming up for his side and displays in these matches will determine whether they can win the Bundesliga or not.
The tactician warned his side against complacency and admitted that next week’s clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 at Volkswagen Arena will surely not be an easy one. He added that Felix Magath’s team is very strong when playing at home and getting three points will never be easy.
“We are playing very well at the moment and we have 39 points, and we deserve those. Our aim is just to collect as many points as possible and we are only looking at ourselves because we have a very tough few weeks ahead. It is going to be very difficult next weekend at Wolfsburg because they are a very dangerous side at home,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Favre further added that he is not thinking about a place in the UEFA Champions League at the moment as he wants to focus on one game at a time. He stressed that there are still teams fighting to finish in the top four so it will not be an easy task.
“Despite this win, we are not talking about European football. The season is still long and we have to fight hard for every victory,” he concluded.
Gladbach have won 12 of the 19 games played in the Bundesliga thus far and have been on the losing side on four occasions.
