Lucio Spadaro wins Men’s 50m freestyle crown: Day six – 2011 World University Games
Day six of the 2011 World University Games saw an impressive swim in Shenzhen, China, on Friday, August 19. The session of the meet held Men’s 50m freestyle final.

Small of United States captured silver medal on the podium by submitting a matchless time of 22.31 seconds, while Shinri Shioura of Japan snagged the bronze medal in the platform by posting an impressive time of 22.37 seconds.
In the corresponding meet, Norbert Trandafir of Romania was placed fourth in a time of 22.45 seconds. Josh Schneider of United States of America wound up fifth in a time of 22.46 seconds. Previously, Schneider took home the golden crown in the Men’s 4x100m
medley relay final meet at the 2010 edition of the World Championships, in Dubai. In addition, Schneider grabbed the bronze medal in the 50m freestyle from this championship.
Andrey Arbuzov of Russia hit the finishing wall in 22.49 seconds to finish sixth in the race. Andrey Arbuzov’s team-mate, Oleg Tikhobaev was placed seventh in a time of 22.56 seconds, while Lucio Spadaro’s team-mate, Andrea Rolla finished eighth after he
touched the finishing blockade in a time of 22.60 seconds.
Additionally, Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus secured the gold medal in the Women’s 50m freestyle meet with a sterling time of 24.66 seconds. In the corresponding race, Darya Stepanyuk of Ukraine took home the silver title with an impressive time of 25.12
and Cate Campbell of Australia snared the bronze medal on the podium by submitting a matchless time of 25.17 seconds. Canada’s Sandrine Mainville finished eighth in the respective meet after she touched the finishing wall and ended her swim in 25.69 seconds.
Last, but not the least, the winners were awarded medals and accolades on account of their impressive swims after the session’s completion.
