Lucimar http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ferreira-c13712 da Silva, commonly known as Lucio, is looking forward to an opening to extend his stay with last season’s treble winners, Inter Milan. The Brazilian defender is bound to the San Siro outfit until the summers of 2012 but he is keen to extend
his time with the Nerazzurri.
The player has started talks with the club officials and he looks desperate to remain in the black and blue jersey. Recently talking to the Inter Milan’s official channel, Lucio said:
“I hope to stay here; I’m waiting for my agreement to be renewed because it is my desire to remain. I have been at this club for two years now and they have been wonderful, but it will be up to the club to decide.”
The Brazilian stopper is demanding a contract extension until 2014, however, the outfit are looking forward to bid him farewell at the end of the 2011/12 season. It is reported that the talks between the player and the outfit are not working out and a deal
is unlikely at the moment.
While talking about his stay at San Siro, Lucio revealed:
"After winning the World Cup, the most beautiful thing I have experienced is the Champions League with Inter. Especially after a bad experience like I had with Louis Van Gaal and Bayern Munich. He didn't know me well and believed that I was no longer necessary
to the squad. Then, after a year came the Final and it was Bayern Munich vs. Inter – it's something that only God could explain.”
The former Bayern Munich centre-back is currently looking forward to achieving silverware for the Nerazzurri, as they meet Palermo in the final of the Coppa Italia this Sunday. The Brazilian believes that it will not be an easy game for them and the opponents
are well capable of giving a tough time to the men in black and blue jerseys.
Inter are keen on winning the Italian Cup in order to reclaim the lost glory after failing to defend the Serie A and UEFA Champions League titles. The final game of this season will be at Stadio Olimpico in Rome on May 30, 2011.
