The former Bayern Munich defender went on to state that he deliberated on his decision to join the current Serie A Champions; feeling it is the right move for him.
Lucio joins Antonio Conte’s outfit following three seasons at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucio-c22597 felt the time was
right to move from the San Siro outfit.
Internazionale have also been keen to offload their high earning players who have crossed a certain age. Players who have crossed 31-32 years of age are slowly being let go by the club. Besides Lucio, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Forlan has made his
way to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573 following a highly inconsistent season at the club.
Inter Milan are also keen to offload http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dejan-Stankovic-c10793 from their roster, and all of these players are past the age of 32 years.
Lucio had been linked to several clubs when his contract with the Beneamata was rescinded. There were rumours linking him with moves to the Spanish Primera Liga, the Turkish League and the Brazilian League. However, the 34-year-old
opted to remain in the Serie A, and chose to move to the current Scudetto winners.
When quizzed about his commitment towards the Bianconeri cause, the defender went on to state that he gives his best to any side that he plays for, and that he would be ready whenever the coach requires him.
He remarked:
“I’m somebody that always honours the shirt that I wear. Juventus have returned to being a great team and our mentality must be a winning one. I’m now at the disposal of the Coach in order to adapt to the systems he employs.”
He further went on to state:
“We know that it won’t be easy to win in Europe, but I think Juventus is already amongst the best. We can aim for the maximum in the Champions League, as well as Serie A and the Coppa Italia.”
Lucio is a similar signing to that of Andrea Pirlo, and Antonio Conte would be hoping that the former Bayer Leverkusen man turns out to be as influential in the coming season as the Italian had been for the Bianconeri last season.
