Dilip Vengsarkar, the former India skipper, believes that luck plays a bigger role in T20 cricket than the sporting skills and blamed poor fortune for the Men in Blue’s exit from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.

After being thrashed by the Kangaroos in their opening Super 8 fixture, the Men in Blue bounced back in style to win against Pakistan and South Africa. India, Australia and Pakistan were level at four points each but the latter two qualified for the semi-finals
due to a superior run-rate.

"Luck did not favour us. The T20 format is such that luck plays a more important role than skill," the former India captain thinks.

Wadekar is not happy that a spinner of Harbhajan Singh’s class was not a part of the playing-11 for the match against South Africa, where India needed to win by a big margin, in order to make it to the semis.
"Probably we could have played an additional spinner with Harbhajan Singh's return (to the team). But there are so many ifs and buts in cricket. I felt the team deserved to be at least in the semi-finals," said Wadekar.
While talking about the tournament favourites, the former cricketer rated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221 may turn out to be the difference in the closing stages of the World T20.
"When that man (Chris) Gayle gets going there is none to stop him," he feels.
