Question:

Lucky Bamboo Plant?

I got one of those lucky bamboo plants from walmart.it is the one that is like intwined.am i supposed to take the little gold string things and the plastic things off of the plant?in case you don't know what im talking about,i think they are to help give the plant its shape.am i supposed to cut them off?

  1. I would leave them on until they get close to restricting the bamboo from growing thicker.. the longer they're there the longer it can work on getting strong enough to hold itself up..

    if you don't like them you can take them off, but the plant might topple over.. so if you really don't like them just replace them with something less noticeable, like fishing line or a thin string..


  2. They really aren't needed, but are used so they stay together during shipping. If you like the vase they're in, just remove the ties. Or you can put them in a container you like. Just make sure you have enough stones or marbles in it to hold the stalks up & together. You can find different color or clear marbles/stones at dollar tree. Try to have at least 2" of stones in the container & the bamboo won't move. Just keep the water level at the same level as the stone.
