The Class 2 Ryans Event Cleaning Specialists UK Handicap Chase will be held at Market Rasen over two miles and four furlongs on Friday, 11th May. Competing in the £12,512 event are sixteen runners. There are hardly any candidates who have raced at the venue before.
Lucky Landing, Well Chosen’s six-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Melville Rose, has raced six times during the new season, with a different race course each time and one of them being Market Rasen.
His seasonal debut was in the W. L. And Hector Christie Memorial Trophy Novices’ Handicap Chase on 12th January at Catterick over two miles. The race was won by Next To Nowhere while finishing the closest was Gentleman Jeff. The third slot was taken up by the 11/4 joint favourite of the race, Bishops Heir.
Lucky Landing had to be pulled up from the race after breaking a blood vessel.
His third start of the season was in the Eric And Lucy Papworth Handicap Chase on 19th February at Market Rasen over two miles and two furlongs.
Lucky Landing won the race by a good nine lengths while riding with Brian Toomey. Settling right next to the winner was Rich Lord. Taking up the third slot was Unwanted Gift.
The 3/1 favourite of the race, Accordintolawrence, was declared unraced after knocking off the ride, Tom Scudamore.
His second success of the season was in the Equinity Novices’ Chase on 2nd March at Doncaster over two miles and three furlongs.
Lucky Landing led the field by a length and had Kings Grey following the closest.
The 8/13 favourite of the race, Lidar, finished second last on the field of four.
An entry who can pose threat for Lucky Landing is Buck Mulligan, Robellino’s seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Music Park.
On 24th September, Buck Mulligan, settled second in the Totepool “Prelude” Handicap Chase (Listed Race) at Market Rasen over two miles and six and a half furlong.
The race was won by Benny Be Good.
He will be racing his seasonal debut today and possesses the potential of being a tough one for Lucky Landing.
