It ain't research! (Those days are over!) (The heyday of research was from 1997-1999)

Let me also throw in my 2 cents and say don't just focus on money. Focus on career satisfaction and what you'll be doing on a day-to-day basis and what will be expected of you on a day-to-day basis. People nowadays forget that liking what you do is just as important as compensation.

If you are doing well, all of them are lucrative.  But among all, I would say investment management and investment banking.  I would also add hedge fund to your list as this is the rising star in the investment world.
