Luctor Emergo all set for the Bettor.Com Back And Lay Handicap
Bidding for a hat-trick in the Class 6 Bettor.Com Back And Lay Handicap is the three-year-old bay gelding, Luctor Emergo. The mile and two furlong race has attracted six three-year-old runners who will invade the track at Ayr for going back home with the
£1, 704 prize money.
The three-year-old Irish gelding has raced ten times ever since the new season dawned and has won only thrice. His last two races were at Ayr and the first success of the season was at Wolverhampton.
Amadeus Wolf’s son won the Play Rainbow Riches At Bluesq.Com Handicap on 2nd February, 2012 at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong. The race turned out to be a simple trip for Luctor Emergo who took his time to align with the pace and
then took the lead when the remainder seven furlongs were still to be raced over, but was ridden inside the last furlong.
He defeated the runner-up, Gabrial’s King, by a length. Miss Cato took the third spot behind the winner.
The next six races saw the three-year-old bay gelding giving in at the hands of the competition. However, the third last attempt which resulted in a second position brought a pleasant ranking change for the Keith Dalgleish trained.
The bay gelding won the Play Casino At Betvictor.Com Handicap on 9th July, 2012 at Ayr over a mile and two furlongs. For the favourite entry it was a struggle to stay in the front as he got ridden over time and again. Keeping it intact in the
final furlong gave him the neck’s provision to keep away the reeling in rival, Hawdyerwheesht, from the wire.
Schmooze took up the third slot behind the winner.
The Irish gelding out of mare, Batilde, won the Totepool.Com Sports, Games, Bingo & More Handicap on 23rd July, 2012 at Ayr over a mile and two furlongs. Yet again entered as the favourite, Luctor Emergo stayed strong in the final furlong and
won the race by the margin of 1 ½ lengths.
Finishing the closest to the winner was, Cadgers Brig.
The 9 to 4 entry will be ridden by jockey, Tom Eaves, as the duo will take on the challenge from the sixth gate.
