Lucy Alexander snaps the record of most wins by a female jockey in a British jumps season
Lucy Alexander has set a new record of most number of victories by a female jockey in a British jumps season.

The jockey achieved this feat at Musselburgh, where she guided Red Tanber to victory in the TurfTV Novices' Handicap Chase on Thursday, February 16.
Grabbing her 23rd victory of the season, Lucy broke Lorna Vincent’s record of 22 wins in a season, set in 1979-80.

The female rider was delighted to make history, saying that Red Tanber, proved to be lucky for her.
She said:
"I'm delighted and it's fitting it has come on Red Tanber. He's been great for me and loves it round here."
Lucy has now set sights on breaking Nina Carberry’s record of peak tally for the seventh consecutive Irish season. Lucy shared: "I'll give it a go."
It was a great ride for Lucy at Musselburgh, as her horse maintained his dominance right through the 2-mile and 4-furlong race.
Red Tanber, jumped superbly to track the leaders initially, and his excellent run helped him take a decent lead at the sixth fence.

Despite an all out effort, his rivals were unable to match his speed.

Consequently, the nine-year-old gelding sealed a convincing win by a margin of four and a half lengths.
Call It On, finished second, whereas the 5 to 4 race favourite, On Gossamer Wings, could only seize third position on the chart.

Ferdy Murphy’s trainee led the race till the sixth hurdle, where Red Tanber stepped up and snatched the glory.
The female rider took part in four races on Thursday, but came out as winner only in the TurfTV Novices' Handicap Chase.

In the Racing UK Handicap Hurdle at Musselburgh, Lucy failed to extract the best of, Battle Honour, and ended up 11th in the list.

Sue Bradburne’s horse could not make an impression, staying in the rear right through the race.
There are still many races to go this season, and Lucy has a great opportunity to make her record even better.

The list of her booked rides includes Sunday’s Watch Racing UK On Sky Channel 432 Handicap Chase, and Monday’s Join Now At Rewards4Racing.com Handicap Chase.
