for homework i have to find out what ''Lucy'' means and i can't find it please help.

  2. lucy was the first full homonoid skeleton ever found. she was named after the beatles song "lucy in the sky with diamonds" - the song her discoverers were hearing on the radio around the time they found her.

  3. "Lucy" refers to the 40% complete skeleton discovered in Ethiopia.  She was discovered by Tim Gray and Donald Johanson, and yes they named her Lucy because of the Beatles song.  She's an Austrapithecus afarensis and is estimated to have lived around 3.2 million years ago or so.  

    The Lucy skeleton was the first finding that challenged the theory that apes evolved large brains before evolving bipedalism, which in Lucy's case is the opposite.  She's one of the great finds in anthropology to this day and remains a source of great interest.
