The 36-year-old has returned to the French top flight for the 2012/2013 season, after Les Merlus snapped him up following his release from the principality side.

After successfully completing his medical on Tuesday, the 36-year-old signed a one-year-contract with Christian Gourcuff’s side.
Lorient president, Loic Fery, has expressed his delight at the capture of the veteran attacking midfielder. While talking to reporters, the president praised his new signing and is expecting big things from Giuly next season.
Fery stated that the 36-year-old has played for some of the best clubs in Europe and his experience will be vital for Le FCL in the up-coming season.
"He fits the profile of player we wanted, he has played for big clubs, and he will give us the experience and character that we were lacking last year,” Loic Fery told reporters.

Giuly is aware of the expectations coaches and players will have from him and is looking forward to help his new side in the up-coming season.
