Question:

Luggage confusion. . . ? Help?

I know in your carry on bag you can only have 3 oz of liquids and they have to be in the clear 1 qt bag and all that. . . but what about in your checked luggage? Can you have liquids in there? Like hair products?

Also, I have sunscreen that is in a spray aerosol type bottle. Is this going to be okay, or should I leave it at home and purchase some more once I'm down there?

  1. Yes, you can carry liquids in your checked baggage.  Be sure to put them in waterproof bags; I also recommend squeezing out a bit of air before packing them.

The aerosol will be fine as well (baggage holds are pressurized), but again, put it in a waterproof bag.

  2. You can pack liquids and gels in your checked luggage without security problems.

If you do pack liquids in you checked bags be sure to put them first into a plastic bag that will contain any leaks.
