  1. First off congrats on going to Egypt, have a great time and make sure to look up the local customs and try to follow them, it will make a big difference in how you are treated. As far as your bags, as long as the duffel bag fits in overhead bin or under the seat in front of you it will be fine. The other bag is considered a pocketbook, so it's fine as well. Check the airline website you are flying with and they will give you the carry on measurements for the duffel. I carry similar bags and stow one in overhead bin and the other under seat in front of me. You cannot have bag on your lap while take off and landing, so it must fit under seat. Make sure all of you liquid is in 3 oz  less containers including makeup that is liquid or gel. Put all of this in a zip lock bag to go through security. Again, it really really helps to check the airline website for all rules and restrictions. Have fun, be safe.

  2. You should be fine. Heads up though, alot of the airlines are beginning to charge extra if you check more than one bag. But both bags you show are okay for carry-on. I know here in the US you can only carry on one bag.

  3. In the U.S., you're allowed one carry-on bag and one other bag for personal use (i.e. purse, briefcase, etc.). As long as your duffel bag will fit either under the seat in front of you or in the storage bins above you, you can bring both.

  4. One bag for hand luggage only.  If it isn't too large (and this bag seems adequate) it can go in the cabin with you which then you put in the overhead storage compartments.

The other bags should be checked in.  These will then go into the planes holdall.  This is the bulky and oversized luggage.  This is collected upon landing from conveyor belts at the arrival sections of the airport.
