Luhaif likely to thrive in 32red.Com Superlative Stakes (Group 2)
The Mick Channon trained bay colt, Luhaif, is quite confident to keep his podium record intact by winning the 32red.Com Superlative Stakes (Group 2) that will be held at Newmarket racecourse on Saturday, July 14. The Class 1 contest over 7 furlongs is scheduled to start at 2:10 (GMT).
The two-year-old novice runner has never experienced a soft ground in his 4-race career; therefore, he is likely to take a little time to adjust to the track that he will be offered to show his guts after a few hours.
In the £34,026 event, the son of Cape Cross out of Hot And Spicy will take on 10 worthy competitors, and this is going to be one of the big challenges for him. But the way he performed and won in his last start is a clear evidence of the fact that the T. R. G Vestey-bred maverick sprinter possesses immense talented in the refined form.
On June 30 at Newmarket, the momentous runner marvellously notched up first position in the Grand Hotel Lienz Tyrol Maiden Stakes over 7 furlongs. That was indeed an outstanding performance which spiked up the colt’s confidence further.
Earlier, Luhaif had finished 3rd in each of the first three races of his career that began in May 2012----two event took place at Haydock while the one race was held at Pontefract.
Thus, the colt will enjoy great time in today’s race as well. However, he will have to be wary of Birdman who is on the verge of a hat-trick at the moment after winning a race each at Brighton and Chepstow.
On June 1, the David Simcock-trained bay colt nicely finished first in a 6-furlong race against four rivals at Brighton while being the 4-9 hot favourite.
He moved ahead to win British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Novice Stakes again over 6 furlongs at Chepstow on June 15. Prior to these two classic conquests, the son of Danehill Dancer out of Gilded Vanity had gained a third in his maiden start on May 18.
In this situation, there will be witnessed a rip-roaring clash between Birdman and Luhaif. The fight will be interesting to watch. Good luck to the duo.
