Luigi's mansion question?

What's the deal with the room with numbers on the wall ranging from zero to I think 23 w/the two big angels & the two doors that open up to a purple, sparkly-looking picture on the wall that kind of looks like a canvas? If there is a secret to completing this room please let me know. Trying to help my six year old son. Thanks.

if you go to cheatcc.com and look for the game it will show you how to beat every level it a good site but with that room i think you have to do something to the picture

Are you talking about Playstation, Xbox360, or Nitendo DS? They're all different.
