The Giallorossi boss bemoans the dropped points against Bologna, and looking to eliminate the mistakes in the future games
AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 manager, Luis Enrique, believes that his team should adapt to the counter attacking tactics of the visiting teams.
The Giallorossi were held to a 1-1 draw by Stefano Pioli’s men at the Stadio Olimpico Rome on Sunday, January 29, 2012. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miralem-Pjanic-c25984 scored
the equaliser.
Enrique admitted that his side struggled against Felsinei in the first-half and were all over the place in the midfield. He admitted that his team made a mistake in conceding the opening goal, but luckily for them, it took no time
to get the equaliser. He insisted that the capital side failed to take advantage of the home conditions, and allowed the opposition to dominate the game.
While talking to the reporters, Enrique said,
“It was a tough match due to the pressure Bologna put all over the field, especially in the first half. After the break we made a mistake on the goal, but then fought back. It was an open game. We’ve got to improve when pressured
like that, because increasingly we will see opponents close up and go on the counter against us.”
The Spaniard insists that his team is still going through a learning curve, and they must learn from their mistakes in the future games. The manager refused to blame the players for missed opportunities, and insisted that he works
as a team and does not like blaming individuals for the defeat or a draw.
“It’s not easy to resolve a situation like that and we have to do better. Still, a team is built thanks to days like this. When there is a draw or a defeat, it’s too easy to talk about individuals, whereas I work with the team
unit.” added the Spaniard
Roma remain sixth in the league table after picking up 31 points from 19 matches played thus far. Enrique is still hoping to finish among the top three and earn UEFA Champions League spot for the next season.
