De Rossi wants a move away from Rome after raising concerns over the ambitions of the club under new ownership. The Italian admitted that the new owners have failed to convince him of the club’s ambitions and he will seek a move
away from the club. However, Enrique has insisted several times that he will convince the midfielder to stay as he is an integral part of his plans.

Talking to the reporters Luis Enrique said, "Daniele is important for this team and I am happy to keep him as he wants to stay with us. It's now the club who has to find an economic agreement with him.”
"He is a reference point for us and I asked the club to keep him. I also know that he wants to remain here. De Rossi is fundamental for us. I am sure the extension will happen, but I don't know when."
The 28-year-old is in the last year of his contract and has reportedly attracted offer from English side, Manchester City. However, the player has softened his stance and is ready to sign if the club satisfy his concerns and offer
him a lucrative deal.
The 2011/12 Serie A season is set to begin in approximately four weeks time and Enrique wants to resolve De Rossi’s future before the start of the new campaign. The manager has insisted that he wants to keep hold of his star players
