Luis Enrique plays down Pep Guardiola comparisons and aiming to copy Barcelona style
Newly appointed A.S Roma manager, Luis Enrique, has played down comparisons with Barcelona head coach, Pep Guardiola.
The Italian media have likened the former Spanish international with the Barcelona manager for his attack minded mentality. Enrique, who recently resigned from the Barcelona B coaching http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, believes that Guardiola is a top coach
and he is nowhere near him.
Guardiola has already won three league titles, two UEFA Champions League crowns, one Copa del Rey, UEFA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in his three year managerial career so far. The Spaniard has become one of the best managers at
a very young age and his attacking style of play has made the Catalans as a devastating force in the game.
The 41-year-old praised his former teammate and said that the achievements he has accomplished in a very short time span make him amongst the best coaches in the world.
Luis Enrique said: "I am very far away from Guardiola's achievements. The work will do the talking for me. It's the work that helps you win titles. Guardiola is one of the best coaches. I will try to earn the credit with my work
but if I don't make it, someone else will do so in my place."
Enrique confirmed that he will implement the Barcelona philosophy at Stadio Olimpico Rome and will make the Giallorossi a similar side to the Spanish Champions.
