Luis Enrique unsure over De Rossi situation and hails Italy’s performance against Spain
A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 manager, Luis Enrique, still unsure of Daniele De Rossi’s future and has his say on Italy-Spain friendly.
The Giallorossi manager has claimed that he still does not know anything about De Rossi’s future at the club. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 midfielder admitted that talks are still ongoing between the club and his agent and he is hoping
for a positive outcome in the next few days.
Enrique revealed that the midfielder will not feature in club’s preliminary round UEFA Europa League fixture against Slovakian side, Slovan Bratislava, on August 18th, 2011.
Talking to the reporters the manager said, "Yesterday De Rossi played 60 minutes with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011] and is doing different training at this time. He will not feature in the Europa League.”
The Italian international is in the last year of his contract at Rome and Enrique desperately wants to keep hold of him. The former Barcelona B manager sees the playmaker as an important member in his plans for the new season and
wants to build a team around him.
On the other hand, De Rossi also admitted a couple of days back that he is tired of all the rumours about his future and wants to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
When asked on Italy’s performance in a 2-1 friendly win over Spain recently, Enrique believes that nobody can be judged on just one game’s performance. However, he admitted that Italy played a wonderful game in the first half and
it is not easy to beat the best team in the world.
“It was a friendly, but I did like how Italy played in the first half. They pressured Spain and played the ball well. I like that a lot. Spain had a few injuries and a lot of absences, as well as the kind of pressure they have
never experienced before given that they are the European and world champions.”
Enrique is eagerly looking forward to the Euro 2012 and believes that the competition will be a real indicator of where all the teams stand.
