Luis Fabiano determined to return to Brazil national team
Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano has spoken of his determination to win back his place in the Brazil national team squad and suggested that he could still play an important role when the 2014 FIFA World Cup takes place in his homeland.
The forward has not featured for his country since Mano Menezes took over from Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri (‘Dunga’) after a disappointing 2010 World Cup.
Fabiano was perhaps Brazil’s best player at the tournament, though, having scored five goals before the side exited the competition at the quarter-final stage at the hands of Holland.

Despite failing to play for his country since, 29-year-old Fabiano believes that his strong showing at South Africa proved that he still has a lot to offer the national team and was determined to perform well with his club to win back his place in the Selecao.
He told FIFA’s official website that: “It’s absolutely normal there should be changes and that new players are coming in with an eye on 2014. Whenever you lose at international level you have to move on and change things around, and what’s going on now is
entirely natural to my mind.
'Still have a lot to offer'
"I know I’m absolutely capable of playing in a World Cup at the age of 33. A lot of players in the last one were even older and still played well. I like to look after myself and I’m sure I’ll be in good shape, and I still have a lot to offer the national
team.  I’ve got no intention of quitting just yet. I want to continue my career with the Selecao, and I’m going to keep on working at Sevilla with that aim in mind."
Fabiano made his international debut against Nigeria in a friendly and has gone on to score 28 goals in 43 appearances for Brazil. He has won the Copa America and FIFA Confederations Cup with his country.
