The legendary http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 and Internazionale winger has gone on to acknowledge that the great success Inter achieved is a thing of the past and they need to rebuild.
Inter Milan were on top of the Italian and European front for a long time, and they managed to be hugely successful during that era as well. They went on a rampage, winning Scudetto after Scudetto and breaking the stranglehold of Juventus and AC Milan in
the meanwhile. They managed to win 5 consecutive Scudetto, which was an incredible feat and the all conquering Internazionale managed to win the treble for the first time in their history, when they lifted the three trophies of Coppa Italia, Scudetto and the
UEFA Champions League in 2010.
However, ever since their treble winning season and the departure of Jose Mourinho from the club, they have not been the same.  They have not been as consistent or as intimidating as they once were and have also fallen behind the pace of their competitors.
It was a rude awakening for the personnel at Internazionale, when they saw the outcome of last season, in which they barely managed to finish in the top six of the Serie A. It was the first time in many years, that Internazionale were unable to represent
the Italians in the UEFA Champions League.
Luis Figo went on to state that his former side should be playing with the best, but he also remarked that they had fallen off the pace of their competitors, and it was a good time as any to perform and do their best, wherever they can.
He went on to state:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567’s era has come to an end, but the club is working to get back to being the winning side of previous years. Scudetto? We’d have to prove that we deserve it. It’s true that we miss the Champions League a great deal, both in terms of prestige and income,
but we are in the Europa League now and will try to make the most of it.”
Luis Figo used to be part of the all conquering side, and was appointed as the director of the club following his decision to retire from professional football.
