Luis Nani does it again: Fantasy Premier League Team of the Week – Part 2
After dissecting the back four, goal keeper and two of the four midfielders, it is time to look at the remaining players who managed to earn themselves a slot on the Team of the Week for Gameweek 6.
Midfielders
Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal – 10 points
After seeing Arsenal go through one of their worst periods in recent history, it is nice to finally see an Arsenal player make the Team of the Week. It also gets better when the player is a replacement for the long term injury of Jack Wilshire.
Aaron Ramsey may not have wanted to enter the squad the way he did, with the injuries and all, yet he did what was expected of him and managed to put in a fine performance.
Setting up two of Arsenal’s goals on the weekend and helping his back four keep a clean sheet as well; Ramsey was all set at nine points. However, his performance caught enough attention to earn him a Bonus point as well.
The young Gunner certainly has the potential to be a regular here and at 6.3-million in the transfer window, he might turn out to be a bargain.
Luis Nani – Manchester United – 10 points
Tottenham Hotspurs’ Rafael Van der Vaart and Arsenal’s Alex Song may have been level with the Portuguese winger, but the fact is that Luis Nani is a Fantasy Premier League favourite and therefore, has earned the right to be in the squad over the others.
In fact, the only player who could contest Nani if it came to captaincy of the Fantasy Team of the Week would be his Manchester United teammate, Wayne Rooney. Scoring the only goal for his side and putting in another absolutely scintillating performance,
Nani bagged three Bonus points to go along with the five points for his goal.
Expect to read his name on a regular basis on these weekly articles.
Demba Ba – Newcastle United – 17 points
Making one of the most impressive first entries in the Team of the Week in recent history, Newcastle United striker, Demba Ba has every Fantasy Premier League manager sitting up and taking notice after a truly spell binding display.
Scoring no less than three goals, Ba managed to amass 12 points before the overall performance was taken into account. Declared the Man of the Match by almost everyone, the three Bonus points were never a doubt and despite not playing the entire match, the
74 minutes he did play were enough to earn him the two points.
Again, whether or not the Newcastle United striker will be a regular here is still a question no one can answer at the moment, however, the Toon do have a habit of finding brilliant strikers.
Robin Van Persie – Arsenal – 13 points
Steadily earning himself the nickname of Captain Fantastic, Robin Van Persie is the brightest light shining from within the Arsenal camp as he managed to reward every Fantasy Premier League Manager with 13 points.
Two goals and three Bonus points later, Van Persie is making things look not so bleak for the Gunners side and also for managers who have him in their squads.
