Manchester United winger and Portuguese international, Luis Nani has gone on to state that he wishes for Bulgarian striker, Dimitar Berbatov to stay at Old Trafford. The player made these comments, following United’s loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the UEFA Champions
League final, which was a game, that didn’t see the Bulgarian make an appearance for the Red Devils.
What is rather amazing about United’s loss in Wembley, is that Berbatov wasn’t even given a spot on the bench for the team. In fact, the manager had opted to only keep http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752
Ferguson opted to give the nod to Owen, over Berbatov, has probably gotten the striker feeling rather gloomy and like he just isn’t valued at the club any more.
This act by the manager, along with the strong rumours that have been floating about recently, have gotten almost everyone to be confident of the fact, that the Bulgarian hit-man, is going to not be a part of United this coming season.
Nani, who managed to come into the game against Barcelona, as a second- half substitute, has come forth and admitted that Berbatov is probably pondering his future at the club. However, at the same time, he also wishes for the striker to remain at the club.
Nani is quoted to have said:"I don't know what he has in mind but everyone knows he's a fantastic player"
"He has scored a lot of goals for us, finished as the top scorer in the league, and I would like him to play for Manchester United again next season.”
The player then hinted at the possibility of a number of player’s coming into the team, as he went on to state: "I don't know which players will be coming in but most important is that the ones who stay fight for us."
At the moment, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have shown the most interest in the striker. The two teams have been keeping close tabs on the player, since he started spending time on the bench more frequently, in the latter half of the
Premier League season.
However, if either team is to land the forward, then they are going to have to part ways with as much as twenty million pounds, unless they can manage to get Berbatov to push for a transfer. Should the striker do just that, then he could be made available
for a whole lot less, considering his contract is set to run out in the near future.
