Luis Orlando Del Valle to defend his undefeated win streak against Christopher Martin – Boxing News
Luis Orlando Del Valle, the current NABA featherweight champion, will defend his undefeated win streak against a more experienced Christopher Martin, the incumbent WBO NABO super bantamweight champion, in a 10-round bout on April 27, 2012. Luis is trying
to follow the footsteps of his cousin Rafael del Valle, the former WBO bantamweight champion.
Luis, 25, is scheduled to take on Christopher in a non-title bout which will co-headline the pay-per-view setup by the duo of Tony Holden of Holden Productions and Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment.
The ring for the Friday night extravaganza will be stretched at Buffalo Run Casino situated in Miami, Oklahoma, United States. Luis, the Puerto Rican proud, hails from a family that has produced champions who have emphatically ruled their respective divisions
and have put forth the boxing fanatics memorising bouts.
It is this reason why young Luis considers the family legacy as a significant aspect of his thriving career. In a very young age, Luis has successfully grabbed the attention of the media that is now propagating him duly as the future bantamweight champion.
This time, on Friday night, Luis will undergo another tough test of his career in the form of Christopher Martin. Luis has been in a total 15 bouts and successfully nailed all his opponents, 11 of them by knockout.
Also known as ‘Orlandito’, Luis recently nailed Jose Angel Beranza, a veteran pugilist with an experience of 59 bouts, via unanimous decision. His opponent Christopher has been in a total 27 bouts and possesses a bit intimidating resume.
Martin, also known as ‘S.D. Kid’, has emerged victorious in 23 bouts and lost only one bout to Jose Angel Beranza. The Californian Martin has collected just six wins by knockout and is coming from a draw decision in a bout against Teon Kennedy.
The critics are pondering the fact that Martin lost to the man who was nailed by Luis, definitely a thought provoking aspect that has shifted the odds completely in Orlando’s favour.
In a recent interview, Luis shared his sheer determination on winning the bout and said, “I need to show everybody where I stand in this sport and Martin’s experience will help develop myself as a boxer.”
At the same time while praising his family legacy, Orlando commented, “It’s an honor and, at the same time, a huge motivation to come from a family that already has a world champion. On April 27, I will be ready to defend my family’s legacy and mark the
beginning of the new generation.”
Luis will definitely put up a great show since he has bit leverage over Martin and if he does execute a clever game plan he will definitely come out of the ring victorious.
