Luis Rojas claims Men’s 200m backstroke gold: Day one – Venezuela Open Championships
Luis Rojas of SCLN claimed gold medal of the Men’s 200m backstroke in the 14 and Over category on foremost day of the Venezuela Open Championships in Maracaibo on May 17.
The 22-year-old Rojas demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the four-lap backstroke discipline and proved his audacity for the title of the event.
With his epic pace, he stayed considerably ahead of his closest competitor and secured gold medal of the 200m discipline by touching the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 03.59 seconds.
His scintillating effort remained almost four seconds ahead of Jesus Lopez of CNCDC, who followed the gold medallist on the medal rostrum for silver medal by submitting a time of 2 minutes and 07.36 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Adolfo Delgado of HHISP, who suffered a deficit of 2.27 seconds from his foregoing finisher and completed the podium by winning bronze medal in a time of 2 minutes and 09.63 seconds.
Fourth position of the 200m event was chased by Reymer Vezga of EDAPA, who stayed 2.23 seconds apart and settled on the finishing blockade by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 11.86 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was secured by Robinson Molina of HHISP, who was nearly two body lengths slower from his former finisher and emerged on the finishing end by touching the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 13.91 seconds.
The 15-year-old Molina was trailed by Gonzalo Vega of EMIL, who stayed almost 0.70 seconds behind and secured sixth finest spot of the race by producing a time of 2 minutes and 14.64 seconds.
Vega was chased by Alvaro Lozano of CNCDC, who remained nearly half body length away from his preceding swimmer and finished seventh in the event by reporting a time of 2 minutes and 15.02 seconds.
Eighth spot of the event was obtained by Jonathan Salomon of CIVG, who stayed 1.57 seconds behind and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 16.59 seconds.
Furthermore, the session ended after the completion of all listed events while the position holders received awards and accolades after the session.
