Luis Romero Amaran wins the stage 2 of Cascade Cycling Classic, Elite Men Category
Luis Romero Amaran of Team Jamis Sutter Home wins the second stage of the Cascade Cycling Classic and strengthened his overall lead at the race.
He crossed the finish line in a quickest time of 31 minutes and 19.91 seconds and restricted Nate English of Team Kenda and Michael Creed of Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies at the second and the third positions respectively.
The cyclist was over the moon after registering such an important victory at the race and rated it as one of his best performance of the season.
"It's a bit of a surprise, but I was feeling good just from the start today," Amaran said.
"I probably haven't had that feeling in years. I've had the conditions to do a good time trial, but this is the first one I've won in the US, so I'm very, very happy”.
“I've always been right there but never won it. So I'm happy to win today in front of the best TT guys in the country".
"I know tomorrow is going to be a hard day, and the group that goes to the top is going to be very small".
