Luis Suarez embarrassed after being named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for third time –EPL News
Influential Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has claimed that he was a bit embarrassed after being named the Reds player of the month for the third successive month in the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season.
The Uruguayan striker has made an amazing start to life at the Merseyside club since completing his move for Ajax in the 2011 winter transfer window. The 24-year-old inspired the Reds to an impressive sixth finish despite their poor start to the campaign
last season.
Suarez has been very influential in this season, too. The former Ajax striker is currently Liverpool’s top goal scorer with four goals to his name already. Moreover, the Uruguayan striker has been very productive in the final third as he has recorded the
most shots on goal in the league, 43.
The Uruguayan international’s extraordinary performances have earned him Liverpool’s Player of the Month for the third consecutive month. Suarez has expressed his surprise over being nominated.
"It's a bit of a surprise because to win it three months running makes me almost feel a bit embarrassed.” He said.
However, Suarez has expressed his contentment and has assured that he will keep on working hard in order to win more laurels.
The Uruguayan striker added, "But as long as people realise I'm just doing my http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and I'm working hard for the team, then that's great."
Liverpool recently drew against Swansea City at Anfield, which was the Reds' second consecutive draw against Premier League newcomers at home. Suarez believes that the Merseyside club should improve their home form in order to finish in the top four of the
league.
"I think if we had managed to pick up a couple more victories in those games in October which we deserved, the home games against Manchester United and Norwich, we'd obviously be a little bit higher up the league," Luis Suarez concluded.
