http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s striker has given an emphatic statement saying that the Reds’ Premier League campaign has been a failure thus far as the season draws to a close in English football. Suarez who sealed his move to Liverpool in the January
transfer window of 2011 has been at the centre of the rebuilding process at the club under Kenny Dalglish but the club has not produced the results that were expected of them so far.
The Merseyside giants did win the Carling Cup earlier on in the season but that success has done little to paper over the cracks in their form especially in the Premier League where they are some way off reaching a top four finish.
Liverpool lost recently to relegation contenders such as Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Wigan and their manager has failed to come up with a reasonable excuse for his team’s failures against such underdogs but that is how the Reds have been all season long, they
have done well against big teams but failed against the mid-table fodder.
Suarez said, "The problem stems from that day. It was a key match and the defeat really affected us. If we had beaten the Gunners everything could have changed. Our goal this season was to win trophies and qualify for the Champions
League. The first part is fulfilled but we have failed in our other dream. Nobody could have believed we would be beaten by QPR and Wigan.”
He added, "What's gone wrong? We have incredibly missed out in the last minutes of matches, we've been affected by injuries and cards. The squad is angry and we really want to win at Newcastle on Sunday. Our mission is to finish
in the highest position possible and to fight for the FA Cup. To win two cups will be the best we can give to the fans who demanded that we play in Europe's top competition.”
