Luis Suarez tips Andy Carroll to shine for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 – EPL News
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has tipped the Reds' most expensive player, Andy Carroll, to shine at the Merseyside club. The Uruguayan striker has backed his fellow partner to prove his worth in the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League.
Carroll became the most expensive English footballer when he was signed by Liverpool from Newcastle United for 35 million on the deadline day of the winter transfer window. The 22-year-old striker hugely impressed during his stint with Newcastle United in
the first six months of the last season.
However, Carroll has failed to replicate his form at Anfield, majorly because he spent his first three months on the sidelines. Even upon his return, he has failed to impress after his long lay-off, managing only two goals in seven appearances.
Contrary to Carroll’s start to the life at Liverpool, Luis Suarez was an immediate hit and has become a fan favourite based on his spectacular performances.
While Suarez has become a vital member of Dalglish’s squad, Carroll has failed to make his mark in the ongoing season and is yet to cement a permanent berth. The duo's partnership is yet to reap any rewards.
However, Suarez believes that Carroll has fully recovered from his injury and will be soon firing on all cylinders. The Uruguayan has stated that it was very unfortunate for the English striker to miss most of the games due to injury.
Suarez explained, "What happened though, was that Andy had the bad luck to be injured for several games and when he came back from that, he picked up another injury. It was difficult for him to get himself into the team because just when Andy came back,
the team was playing well and the manager didn’t know who he could drop.”
The former Ajax striker feels that his partnership with Carroll can still improve, and added:
"Now having trained and after a good pre-season for Andy with his teammates, the more training sessions we have together, he will be better. We'll get a much better understanding of each other and that can only be good for the team."
