Luisao signs new deal at Benfica and claims that he will end his career at the club - Report
Brazilian International Luisao has penned a new contract at Benfica, which has tied him to the club until 2016. The defender has also revealed his desire of eventually hanging up his boots with the Portuguese giants.
Luisao, 30, arrived at Estadio da Luz after making the switch from Brazilian club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cruzeiro-c38870 back in 2003.
Since his arrival, the Selecao International has transformed from a relatively unknown talent to arguably the best defender in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. He not only possesses great ability to win the ball but is also technically sound.
Although never been on the verge of a move away from the club, Luisao stirred the headlines this summer when he announced that he was open to a switch to Paris Saint-Germain and would be willing to listen to the offers made by the cash-rich French outfit.
However, in the end, the centre-back surprised everyone with his decision to stay and continue plying his trade with the Eagles. It was confirmed only shortly that he has penned a new deal to keep him in Lisbon at least until 2016.
Speaking to the reporters, Luisao boldly declared that he intends to end his playing career at the helm and said that he had special affection with everyone at the club, from the fans to the president.
"I will end my career at Benfica, in five or six years. I feel the affection of the fans, and all the people at the club. I also have a special affection with the president, who kept me at the club in difficult moments."
Narrating on his difficult start to life in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984, the former Juventus-SP man said that initially he could not adapt to the conditions in the Primeira Liga and if the staff hadn’t been there to help him out, he would have probably returned to his homeland.

returned to Brazil,” the Benfica skipper was quoted as saying.
With his contract sorted, Luisao can concentrate on winning the title with Benfica and will aim to secure all three points when they welcome Vitoria Guimarães to Estadio da Luz.
