Luisao to make his return for Benfica in 15 days – Primeira Liga News
Benfica captain, Luisao, will reportedly make his return for the Lisbon side in almost fifteen days. The defender injured himself during the game against Manchester United and is now going to spend on nearly two weeks on the sidelines, during which he will
also miss the derby with Sporting.
Brazilian International, Luisao, is one of the most talented and reliable defenders in Liga Sagres. Known for his tenacity as well as his regularity at the heart of the Benfica back-line, he has only missed out on 17 games during Jorge Jesus’ reign.
The tactician models his defence around the 30-year-old and always fields him in the line-up, with the only exceptions being when the player is either suspended or injured and cannot take to the field.
Without their star man, the Eagles have not looked like the same team and cannot usually play their fluid football without a senior presence at the back. Results in the past such as the 0-0 draw against Sporting and the narrow loss at the hands of Vitoria
Guimarães highlights his importance to the side.
Although the details of the injury have not fully been revealed, it is thought that the Selecao International has damaged his right groin and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
According to the examination conducted by the medical staff at Estadio da Luz, the centre-back is out for nearly two weeks and only after that will he be able to resume his footballing duties.
With Luisao out for the much awaited derby against the Lions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Garay-c13071 has proved himself worthy of a place at the back but choosing his partner is a real dilemma.

As the title race starts to build-up, Benfica will need their best players at their disposal and they will be hoping that Luisao returns to the squad as quickly as possible.
