Luiz Razia confident about 2013 F1 drive – Formula 1 news
Luiz Razia feels positive about becoming the part of the Formula 1 racing for the season of 2013 as teams look for new drivers.
“Things are moving in a very positive way for next season,” Razia told AUTOSPORT. “There was a very big doubt at the end of 2011 that I would even be able to keep racing, but after this season – which was a brilliant year for us – it has opened up a lot
of opportunities. If I didn't have the results it would be difficult to convince teams, but now teams are being positive. It is not easy for anybody trying to get into F1, but at least I have a chance now.”
The Brazilian driver has recently been the runner up of the GP2 Series. He also tested for the Formula 1 team Force India and is also looking forward to testing at the Young Drivers Test in Abu Dhabi.
Razia has stated that they have been in contact with several teams did not take any names. He is also confident that his talent along with his financial sponsorship will help him get a seat in the grid for next year. He admitted that this was his best racing
season and that should guarantee him a chance.
Razia began his career in 2005 with South American Formula 3 Championship. By the end of 2006, the driver was testing for GP2 car and in the October of 2008, he was confirmed for the Trust Team Arden in the GP2 Asia Series for the season 2008 to 2009.
He joined Virgin Racing which was one of the new teams in the season of 2010, as a test driver and that gave the chance to appear for the very first time in Formula 1. He did not take part in any actual Formula 1 sessions but participated in the Young drivers
test at the end of 2010 season.
In 2011, he was hired by team Lotus as a reserve and test driver. He drove their car in the free practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix as well.
Let’s see whether 2013 brings him his first ever F1 drive.
