Luiz Rogerio Arapiraca seizes Men’s 1500m freestyle title: Day two – Maria Lenk Trophy
Luiz Rogerio Arapiraca of UNISANTA seized gold medal of the Men’s 1500m freestyle on second day of the 2012 Maria Lenk Trophy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Wednesday, April 25.
Arapiraca faced strong competition from his competitors throughout the distant freestyle event. With his phenomenal efforts and astonishing strokes, he managed to outsmart his challengers on the finishing end for gold medal.
With his stupendous efforts, he gained an advantage of nearly two strokes over his challengers and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal by posting a time of 15 minutes and 22.73 seconds.
His title claiming effort was trailed by Lucas Cruz Kanieski of FIAT/MINAS, who stayed 0.22 seconds behind and stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by clocking an effort 15 minutes and 22.95 seconds.
The third spot of the race was secured by Marcos V Ferrari De Oliveira, who stayed considerably slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 15 minutes and 24.50 seconds.
The bronze medallist was followed by Juan Pereyra, who remained almost nine seconds behind and finished his swim in fourth best place by reporting a time of 15 minutes and 33.80 seconds.
Pereyra was trailed by Victor Hugo Ribeiro Colonese of UNISANTA, who was almost three seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and touched the wall with the timing of 15 minutes and 36.72 seconds for fifth position.
Sixth best spot of the race was obtained by Esteban Enderica of FFC/RJ, who stayed nearly half body length slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 15 minutes and 37.42 seconds.
Similarly, Enderica enjoyed an advantage of almost five seconds over Lucas Bittencourt Azevedo, who secured seventh position of the event by reporting a time of 15 minutes and 42.56 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Samuel De Bona of GNU, who remained nearly six seconds apart and hit the wall for eighth position with the timing of 15 minutes and 48.76 seconds.
In addition, the session ended after the completion of all scheduled swimming events.
