Nikki Vuksan, Luka Modric’s agent, has also reaffirmed the news by calling these media speculations nothing more than rumours. Vuksan believes that the club is very passionate to retain their most prized asset, Modric.
The agent, while trying to calm down the urgency going on in the media about Modric’s summers transfer moves said, “They are just rumours. I have read comments from different people on this subject, but the reality is that Luka has a long and important contract
with Tottenham. If a bid should arrive it would be up to the club to evaluate it. Tottenham want Modric to talk with club officials and, to my knowledge, this has not yet happened, so at the moment I can rule out any surprises.”
In 2008, the midfielder equaled the £16.5 million transfer fee record set by the former Spurs player http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358, by agreeing upon at the six-year contract deal.
The 25-year-old, Modric has become the heartbeat of Spurs’ defense, and especially this season he has won the hearts of millions of Spurs’ fans with his belligerent performances. At a brisk pace, he has scored 10 braces in this season by making 20 appearances
for Harry Redknapp’s men.
The two Serie A league clubs, who are believed to be chasing for the Croatian youngster, are Inter Milan and Juventus. Spurs have set a very demanding market valuation for Modric which is expected to be in the region of £50 million, and surprisingly, it
didn’t change Milan’s summer transfer plans as they are planning to table a collective £65 million bid for Modric and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422, the 21-year-old Spurs left-back.
That’s not all, the English Premier League toppers Manchester United, after remaining very quiet during the January transfer season, are also planning to join top contenders list to hire the services of former ‘Dinamo Zagreb’ player, Modric. According to
the latest media reports, United’s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson would be more than happy to induct Modric by offering £25 million amount to Spurs when the new transfer season opens.
The laconic phrase “over my dead body” fits in well in the case of Harry Redknapp, Spurs manager. He revealed that the possibility of selling Modric does not exist in his future plans. Speaking to a Croatian newspaper, he said, “I wouldn't want to sell him
for £100 million, not even for a billion. He's the hub of the team.”
