It appears that Luka Modric has caught the attention of Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The Chelsea boss recently let it slip that the Modric is his top target in the January transfer window. The Croatian has played a pivotal role in Tottenham’s success this season. On signing for Tottenham back in 2008, Modric was initially unimpressive and
failed to make an impact. However, the midfielder has flourished under the guidance of Harry Redknapp, who placed the Croatian in a more attacking role. The tactic has paid off for Spurs, and Modric has become the main provider of goal scoring opportunities
for the team.
Chelsea have recently shown severe deficiencies in midfield. With their talisman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 sidelined due to injury, the Blues struggled to create chances going forward. Carlo Ancelotti has realised that his side cannot rely solely on the English international
and sees the answer to his midfield problems in the form of Luka Modric. The news of Ancelotti’s transfer plans was leaked by a close friend of Modric, Zdravko Mamic.
Mamic said, “I was with Ancelotti for lunch. I was very proud when I heard what he said about Modric. Luka is top of his list, his first pick when it comes to new signings. I am not Modric's agent - I am just his friend - but I am very proud.”
Carlo Ancelotti has recently revealed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 owner Roman Abramovich has given him a vote of confidence. Ancelotti is authorised to spend as much money as he deems necessary to strengthen his ailing side during the January transfer window.
Reports suggest that Chelsea will make a massive 30 million pound bid for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857. However, it is uncertain whether Harry Redknapp will entertain any offers for the 25-year-old. Spurs are in the middle of a stellar season and Modric has been instrumental
in bringing them to their current position. The Tottenham manager will be desperate to keep the Croatian at White Hart Lane, particularly since Spurs are competing for a Champions League trophy as well as the Premier League title.
