Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luka Modric has revealed he had received interest from European clubs, but admitted he remained undecided over his future.
It seems Modric might wait before he decides where he wants to go, if he wants to leave the London club that is. He is currently away at the European Championships with Croatia as they look to make their mark on the European competition.
Last season, Chelsea were in the lead to sign the 26-year-old and had offered 40 million pounds for Modric, who had even handed in a transfer request. Unfortunately, Tottenham Hotspur chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy and manager Harry Redknapp successfully blocked the
move.
While promises of UEFA Champions League football convinced Modric to remain with Tottenham Hotspur, this season may be different. Not only have the Spurs failed to qualify for Champions League football, manager Harry Redknapp has parted ways with the club.
Now Modric has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and it seems the Croatian international could go on to finally secure a move away. He admitted he was linked with various European sides, but revealed he was still
contracted to Tottenham Hotspur.
Modric said in an interview:
“There are all sorts of rumours still circulating. I'm not saying that the clubs are not interested, but I'm still under contract with Tottenham.”
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international.
The main reason for this is the fact that Tottenham Hotspur failed to secure a place in next seasons European competition, even though they managed a fourth place finish in the Premier League.
Corluka revealed:
“We all know it will be very difficult for Spurs to keep Luka because they do not have Champions League football next season. Luka is one of the best players in the world and the kind who wants to play in the best competition.
Not getting into the Champions League will cost Spurs next season, even though they were unlucky to get fourth place and still not be there.”
