Tottenham midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 has been the subject of much transfer speculation, with him now being linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Luka Modric has been instrumental in Tottenham’s emergence as a top English side, with the midfielder pulling the strings in the centre of the field and orchestrating attack after attack for the North London club.
Tottenham showed great resolve in holding on to the midfielder last season, with sources suggesting the club had rejected multiple bids from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. One such bid was believed to be in the region of £40 million.
There were rumours which suggested Modric himself tried forcing a move out of White Hart Lane on numerous occasions.
He also went on to publicly state his wish to play for a Champions League side, after Tottenham missed out on the European competition this year.
However, now it looks as if Modric may finally get his wish. Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 claim his transfer to Madrid has reached an advanced stage, with Spurs pushing for a high asking price, believed to be around the £40-45 million region.
Modric has already made it clear that he wants to leave Spurs this season after being refused a move to Chelsea last season.
This news came out on a Croatian website earlier. "Everything has been resolved satisfactorily. Luka and Madrid agree on everything. Things are a bit more difficult with the position of Tottenham, but everything will be resolved, and quickly."
Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris St Germain have also been linked to the midfield maestro this season.
It is believed that Madrid were encountering problems regarding the sum demanded by Tottenham.
Modric has set a deadline of July 17th, in order for Madrid to come and get him. Should they fail to do so, he is more than likely to pull the plug on the deal.
New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is said to be a huge admirer of Modric, having tried to sign the player in his short tenure at Chelsea. The player’s future, as of now, is very unclear.
