West Brom striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 and Didier Drogba on his early days as a Chelsea player, but wants to make his own name and shake off comparisons with his Chelsea teammate Drogba.
The 19-year old Belgian power house made a big hyped move to Chelsea last season from Belgian club Anderlecht for £18 million, but failed to make an impact.
Lukaku’s first season at Chelsea saw him restricted to the bench and he never really got a chance to prove himself. The player faded out, and had to make do with a number of substitute league appearances and Carling Cup starts.
The player had been likened to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s fans. Perhaps this put a little too much pressure
on the young striker, who was soon forgotten as Chelsea went on to win the FA Cup and the Champions League.
The player secured a season long loan move to West Brom in the summer in search of first team football, and has made a huge impact for the Baggies. The player had hoped to develop himself further as a player, and is happy to have moved to the Hawthorns.
Lukaku is hoping to make his own name and wants people to stop comparing him to Drogba.
"Didier and I have a similar playing style but I don't think he would have wanted to be compared to someone when he was young," Lukaku told West Brom's official website.
"Every player wants to be their own person, their own personality. I don't want to be the new anyone.”
"At first it was ok - but I'm bored of it now. It isn't necessary and I don't like it now.”
"I have my father's surname, I am Romelu Lukaku - I'm not anybody else. This is my own name and the name I want people to remember."
The Belgian powerhouse scored on his West Brom debut against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on the opening day of the Premier League and tormented Tottenham’s defence in West Brom’s second game of the season. Manager Steve Clarke has hailed his signing and hopes to see more
of the same from the striker.
