The FC Koln striker has urged his team to get back to winning ways in order to avoid relegation after the disappointing 6-1 loss at the hands of the Borussians.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 has expressed his displeasure after losing badly to Borussia Dortmund at home. The visitors scored five second-half goals to record a 6-1 win over the clueless hosts on Sunday, March 25, at the RheinEnergieStadion.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Perisic registered their names on the score sheet.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Milivoje-Novakovic-c25859 earned them a
well deserved lead in the 13th minute.
Podolski thought that Piszczek’s equaliser in the 26th minute gave the Borussians some hope of winning the game and admitted that the visitors were relentless in the next period. However, he thought that his teammates
completely lost their focus in the next 45 minutes and conceded five goals in 37 minutes which certainly speaks of Dortmund’s quality.
While talking to a local German newspaper, Express, the 26-year-old further added:
"I have no words to describe this loss. I think we played well in the first half. Dortmund had very few opportunities. And then, in the second half, we just broke down again. Each match from now on is a cup final for us."
The striker insisted that Koln must stick with the same combination that lost to the Black Yellows. He believes that the players must have learned from their mistakes on the pitch and therefore should be given a chance to make
a strong comeback in the future games.
"There is no point in replacing people. We have screwed up on the pitch, and will just have to start over again in the next match," Podolski concluded.
As a result of this defeat, Koln have dropped down to the 14th spot with 28 points and are just one point clear of the drop zone. They would need to win at least five of their remaining seven games to ensure survival
in the first division. Stale Solbakken’s men will next be in action against FC Augsburg on Saturday, March 31.
