FC Koln striker, Lukas Podolski, has reinstated his desire to stay in Germany despite being strongly associated with a move to Italy. The player’s agent, Kon Schramm, has also justified his client’s remarks by denying any possible move during January or
at the end of current season.
It was previously reported that Podolski had expressed desire of playing in the Serie A with Lazio. The Italian club were believed to be preparing an official bid for the versatile attacker before learning of the player’s renewed wish.
The striker, though, declined making any comments about a possible http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 move either during winters or at the end of current campaign. He opined that some reporters or newspapers are just catching attention by making such false claims.
Podolski’s stay was also confirmed by the club manager, Stale Solbakken, who clearly wished to retain the striker at least for the entire length of his contract.
The former Bayern Munich player told that he has no reasons of parting ways with the club and all such reports are rumours. He, at the same time, confirmed of his desire to play in Italy some day, but not before serving his contract at RheinEnergieStadion.
Lukas’ agent also confirmed of Lazio’s interest in his client but strongly denied possibility of any move before the striker’s contract expires.
While talking to Bild, the agent further enthused, "In principle I don't comment on the subject now. And certainly not to Italian journalists.”
Koln’s sporting director, Volker Finke, also told about club’s intentions regarding Podolski’s transfer. He clearly stated that the Billy Goats have no plans of parting ways with the player in near future and revealed that Podolski might be offered a new
contract at the end of this term.
Finke, while talking to Tuttomercatoweb, also added, "We are hopeful Lukas will stay with us. In terms of this, new talks have already started over a contract."
Podolski, so far this season, has bagged nine goals from 11 Bundesliga appearances and will next be seen in action against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 05 on Saturday, November 19, at RheinEnergieStadion.
The 26-year-old already has 95 international caps to his name for Germany, scoring 43 goals during the process until now.
