FC Koln striker has hinted at a move abroad after refusing to extend his deal and eyes joining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429
Podolski recently declined an extension offer from the Billy Goats which suggests that he is eyeing a move away from club at the end of the ongoing season.
It is believed that Premier League will be Podolski’s next big challenge after spending almost a decade in the Bundesliga. Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal seem to be interested in bringing the attacker to Emirates during the summers as
he would be available on a bargain price.
With growing interest from the Spanish giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Real Madrid, the three teams could be in for a strong fight over the striker’s transfer.
However, Podolski has spoken in favour of the Gunners and is likely to land in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 next year in June. The German international has become one of the hottest properties in German football this season and is the second highest
goal-scorer in Bundesliga behind Mario Gomez.
While talking to reporters, the former Bayern Munich striker further elaborated:
“If I leave Cologne, I’d be tempted to go abroad. It’s very hard to imagine moving within the same league.”
Podolski’s January transfer would cost Arsenal a fee in the region of 16 million Euros which could go down to 10 million at the end of the 2011/12 season. Therefore, it is likely that the Gunners might enquire about the striker
during summers and instead allow Rosicky to leave in January to get some funds in their bag.
Podolski is currently enjoying an outstanding 2011/12 campaign and has already scored 14 league goals from 15 appearances.
As Arsenal are in search of an accomplished striker, their own midfielder, Tomas Rosicky, has been lined up for a possible transfer by the Bundesliga side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881. Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath recently expressed his interest
in the Czech international and wants to bring him to the Volkswagen Arena during the upcoming winter transfer window.
“Tomas is good and he is fit, no question. A few years ago every top club was after him.” Magath added.
