Germany international, Lukas Podolski, has been furious at claims by DFB general manager, Oliver Bierhoff, that he should have been omitted from the national team squad for friendlies.

“If it seems that way to Mr. Bierhoff, then that’s his opinion. You don’t have discussed it,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.

“I am a friend of clear words. And also players must be able to take criticism, must also live with the facts. It’s not like that one is saying that you do not believe in him, that you have no confidence in him,” the former player mused.
On the other hand, Bierhoff heard the Germany international’s comments and offered him a few words of advice. He suggested that players should be able to take criticism and need to live with the reality. He said that he believes in the player’s potential
and confidence.
Moreover, he added that Podolski has been great for Germany for a number of years and is vital for them. However, last year he was out of form.
