The 18-year old goalkeeper has expressed his pleasure on moving to Bayern Munich from Schalke in this summer’s transfer window.
The shot stopper was part of the Die Knappen side that won the German Under-19 championship as they downed the Bavarians in the final. Schalke won with a margin of 2-1 and were crowned champions for the first time since 2006.

The goalkeeper admitted that the Bavarians made it clear to him that he will train with the first team and will certainly play with the reserves when the season begins. He stated that these promises tempted him with a move to Allianz
Arena as he sees a future ahead.
“It was a bit special when Bayern called. I decided relatively quickly to come to Munich. Schalke is obviously a very big club, but Bayern is something else again. Bayern made it clear I’d train with the first-team and gain match
practice with the reserves. At the time, when Bayern asked the question, my situation at Schalke wasn't as clear,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the youngster hailed Manuel Neuer and admitted that he idolises the former Schalke man. He heaped praise on the German number one and labelled him as the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment.
The glovesman feels that he still has a lot to learn from his seniors but is confident that his time at Bayern will make him an improved player.

Lukas Raeder has a great future ahead of him. Still only 18, the player has a lot of potential to become one of the best in German football.
