Lukasz Fabianski: Arsenal must focus on one game at a time
Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has called for his team to focus on winning one game at a time this season, adding that he hopes to keep making regular appearances as first-choice keeper Manuel Almunia approaches full fitness.
Speaking to Arsenal's official website, Fabianski said that his team must focus on one game at a time to retain their form in the league.
"We are more focused on every single game rather than thinking about the title," he said about his team's situation. "We want to be focused on the next game and the next game is Tottenham."
Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League, two points behind Chelsea after claiming 26 points from the first 13 games of the season.
The team face Tottenham in a much-awaited North London derby on Saturday 20 November.
Inconsistent as Almunia's replacement
The Pole, who arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2006, replaced Almunia after the Spaniard injured his elbow against West Bromwich Albion on 25 September.
The keeper, who has made seven league appearances since Almunia's injury against West Brom, has previously insisted that his confidence has been strengthened from his consistent appearances for the club.
His performances have varied in quality, as his mistake allowed Newcastle's Andy Carroll to score his team's winning goal on 7 November before saving his teammates several times over against Wolverhampton Wanderers three days later.
With the Spaniard set to return to training next week, the Polish international said he was enjoying shouldering the team's keeping responsibilities on a regular basis and that he hopes to continue doing so.
"I just feel happy to be playing regularly every three days. I'm enjoying that and I just want to keep working hard and keep playing as best as I can."
