The Borussia Dortmund defender has expressed his satisfaction on his side’s draw against FC Augsburg and is confident of lifting the title at the end of the season.
The Borussians were unable to secure all three points against FC Augsburg at the SGL Arena on Saturday, March 10, as they ended with a 0-0 scoreline. The home side defended sensationally well to stop the reigning champions from
scoring in the game.
Piszczek claimed that neither of the two sides created enough chances to score which is why both teams deserved a point each. The defender insisted that his side cannot win every game and that the winning streak had to end at some
point.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 international stated that Dortmund have been lucky in some games this season when the team has managed to score in the dying moments to win but this time it was always going to be difficult. The player was satisfied
with the way the back four performed and admitted that the clean sheet was vital.
“We had one chance, Augsburg none. It wasn’t taken so 0-0 is a fitting result. We can’t win every game. In the past we have managed to secure wins in games that looked to be heading for draws, but not this time. We weren’t at our
best today and it was vital that, in such games, we held our shape at the back,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to the club’s official site.
On the other hand, Dortmund’s sporting director http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Zorc added that 0-0 was a fair result for both sides. He insisted that his team was unable to create ample opportunities to score in the game whereas the opposition was impressive
in defending the ball.
“We couldn’t find a way to beat Augsburg. We didn’t enjoy good possession as we are used to and created little in the way of chances,” he concluded.
Borussia Dortmund could have secured their ninth straight win in the league if they had won against FC Augsburg. They are still five points ahead of second placed Bayern Munich at the top of the table with nine games to go until
the end of the season.
