Luke Davison wins the stage 6 of the Tour of the Murray River 2012
Luke Davison of Team Budget Forklifts continued his tremendous form and bagged an important victory during the stage 6 of the Tour of the Murray River 2012.
He crossed the 39 kilometre race in a total time of 51 minutes and 30 seconds and occupied the top podium spot.
Malcolm Wohler of Team Drapac Professional Cycling held the second position, while Alex Wohler of Team Downunder, Glenn O’Shea of Team SASI and Patrick Shaw of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers occupied the third, fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
Stuart Shaw of Team Drapac Professional Cycling, Joel Pearson of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers and Joshua Taylor of GPM Wilson Racing succeeded during the Intermediate sprint of the race.
Overnight general classifications leader Joel Pearson finished at the 16th position and extended his lead by a further five seconds over Anthony Giacoppo.
Aaron Donnelly of Team Jayco-Honey Shotz won the stage award for the most aggressive rider after his superb effort throughout the event.
Giacoppo is now 15 seconds behind at the second position after the stage 6 classifications, whereas Patrick Shaw of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers, Luke Davison of Team Budget Forklifts and Joshua Taylor of Team GPM Wilson Racing secured next three spots in the respective order.
Only time will tell if Pearson manages to continue his tremendous form for the coming stages of the race to bag an overall victory at the race.
He will face tough challenge from Anthony Giacoppo, who is known for his last minute attacks and is pretty much capable of overcoming the 15 second deficit.
