Luke Donald is the favourite golfer of the RBC Heritage
Luke Donald is heading to the venue of the RBC Heritage, to be in the field. Most of the experts have declared him the hottest among all others. The 34-year-old English professional golf player is the current number 1 and attracts all the experts towards
him.
He has won 12 professional events, since turning professional in 2001. Out of the 12 victories, five are on the PGA, six on the European Tour and the rest are on the other organiser events.
Donald was the most successful golfer of 2011. He achieved many glories last year. Some of the honours include European Tour Golfer of the Year, PGA Tour Player of the Year, PGA Tour leading money winner and PGA Player of the Year.
In 2011, he won the titles of World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and PGA Tours' Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.
He also recorded European Tour wins at The Barclays Scottish Open and BMW PGA Championship.
On the other hand, he finished several tournaments of both the tours, among the top-10 list. Such impressive performances took him to the leading worldwide position.
In the current year, his performance is not so attractive. Since January, he is lacking behind and not delivering his best on the golf courses.
He has played many events in 2012 and only won the title of the PGA staged Transitions Championship. His second best finish was of T6, at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.
After performing average at most of the events, he is still the favourite and the hottest player in the RBC Heritage. The reason may be of his runner-up position at last years’ episode of the event.
Last year, he played extremely well at the Heritage and faced a playoff defeat from Brandt Snedeker. Donald scored 12-under 272 and lost the tournament due to an early birdie from Snedeker.
Hence, most of the experts think that he will impress the spectators in the upcoming PGA staged tournament. He is capable enough to secure a leading position and to give tough times to the others.
There are ample opportunities for the Englishman to record his debut win at the RBC Heritage. However, the only need is to deliver his best and continue his leading scoring performances in South Carolina.
