Luke Donald missed another chance to win a major
Two days have passed of the most awaited major of the year, the U.S. PGA Championship. The fighting stage for this prestigious event is the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, the Ocean Course. The event started on the 9th of August and being a four-day
event, it will end on the 12th of August.
The biggest names in the world of golf have gathered at this stage to fight for the Championship. On the first two days of the tournament, players tried to impress the spectators, some succeeded while others failed.
One of the players who are under the spot light for this tournament is the English professional golfer, Luke Donald. Donald is currently on the number one spot in the official golf ranking. He has occupied the top spot for quite some time now.
He is the only player who has been on the top spot and has not been able to bag a major title. Once again, Donald is trying his best to win his career’s first major. Till now he has failed but has not lost hope.
In the PGA Championship, once again, despite his best effort, Donald is not able to come even close to winning the major. Two days of the tournament have passed and Donald has registered a very pathetic score by his standards.
On the first day of the major, Donald carded three birdies, one double bogey and five bogeys. These made his score four-over par after the first day.
Donald came back on the course for the second round, trying to turn his game around but failed to do so. He scored three bogeys, one double bogey and three birdies.
These made his score two-over par for the day and his total score climbed up to six-over par.
After two days Donald is tied on the 66th spot with six other players. The world number one was disappointed with his performance.
In an interview he said, “I actually played decent and got nothing out of it. I hung in there pretty well and I hit a lot of shots that I thought would give me a putt for birdie and I ended up taking bogey. The frustration builds, but I’m not making any
excuses. There’s still other thing to look for and it makes me more determined to keep working hard”.
