Luke Skywalker lost his hand, right??

I might have made this up, but didn't Luke Skywalker lose his hand, and if so, in which Star Wars epidode was it?

Yes, Luke loses his hand in a duel with Darth Vader.  He loses it just as he learns that Vader is his father.

Towards the end of Star Wars Episode V, The Empire Strikes Back.

Yes, he lost his hand in The Empire Strikes Back, just before he found out that Vader was his father.

The black glove-covered hand he had in Return of the Jedi was a bionic hand. It got a hole shot in it on Jabba's sail barge.

Yeah he did, in episode five, the empire strikes back, after Darth Vader tells him "Luke, I am your father." Also, Anakin loses his hand in a duel with Count Dooku in episode two, attack of the clones.

Lots of half right answers you've got ... the right part is he lost it in the duel with Vader in Episode V:  The Empire Strikes Back.  The wrong part is when they say he lost it after Vader told him he was his father.  He lost it before that and it ended the duel ... then Vader told him that he was his father and asked Luke to help him defeat the Emperor.

A little sidebar ... I've always thought that the Skywalker male members were destine to loose their right arms because of a insane curse put on them by someone.  Anakin looses his right hand to Dooku in ep II ... if you're not really into the books of Star Wars you wouldn't know that the duel between Vader and Luke in ep V was NOT their first duel.  In the book "Splinter Of The Minds Eye", set in between ep IV and ep V, in this book Luke and Vader go to blades against each other.  In that duel Luke ends up cutting off Vader's right arm.  Ironic don't you think.
